Whenever I go to LA, I am usually very pressed for time and much of it is business rather than pleasure. This trip however, I got to spend a few days enjoying the beautiful hills and soaking up the sun with only minimal work to do.
I got into LAX from Las Vegas with a 57 minute airtime flight, easypeasy.

Most of my time was spent in relaxation by the pool with a little bit of shopping, a lot of eating, catching up on sleep, and working in between.
Interestingly, Hotel Bel-Air was rumored to be the secret rendezvous spot for Marilyn Monroe & John F. Kennedy back in the day. There's plenty of memorabilia photos of MM throughout the property, which gave me a cool eerie feeling that she once upon a time graced the same corridors that I was passing through.
The property is nestled in the plush hills of Beverly/Los Angeles area and it is somewhat of a time warp. I say this because the valet attendants, bellhop, and especially housekeepers have uniforms that look like it's never been updated since its opening back in the 40's. I assume the hotel strategically did this to keep a reminding piece of its old Hollywood glamour
.
Although the outfits were pretty much horrid (to say the least) I found it actually charming and quite fitting for the place.
The service there was impeccable! You were always greeted with a friendly "hello" followed by a "is there anything I can help you with Ms. _______." I could tell that every person was trained with the utmost standard of hospitality.
It was great to get away for a few days and change up my surrounding. Until we meet again city of angels...
