#BeautyCon Recap
I anticipated an eventful weekend for BeautyCon, but what I didn't expect was such a memorable and amazing experience! The 3 day whirlwind was unforgettable and completely exceeded all my expectations!
THURSDAY | August 22, 2013
It all started Thursday evening at the YouTube Space LA. The VIP industry party was held there with my fellow social colleagues. Funny story-- my iPhone Maps led me to a dead end and if it wasn't for
, I would have been completely lost. Apparently, Siri gave her horrible directions too, but perhaps it was all meant to be because it set the tone for the rest of the wild weekend. Getting lost with friendly strangers isn't so bad...
When I arrived at the Industry Party, the panelists were getting ready to take stage. It started with
, one of the founders of BeautyCon, and her introduction to an epic weekend. The panelists included host,
, who by the way is an amazing human being, Sophia Bush, Wendy from
, Elle & Blair Fowler, Christina Milian, founder of multi-million dollar makeup company, Bare Minerals Leslie Blodgett and many others. They tackled topics of how to deal with haters, advised on how to be a 'super guru,' and told stories of success.

After the panel session, I proceeded to visit each booth; they had lots of goodies to give out and it was a great opportunity to network with the brands. There were also VIP swag bags, but I unfortunately did not receive one since they ran out. Apparently, it was an awesome bag too! I watched
and was slightly jealous I missed out on so many cool goodies! Ended the night with my first meal of the deal at 11pm at this quaint Brazilian spot in
WeHo,
it's what the cool kids refer to as West Hollywood.
FRIDAY | August 23, 2013
Following Thursday night's event was Friday's pool party with
at the historical Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood. I arrived semi late due to a visit downtown at the American Apparel Warehouse. The glamorization of 'sweatshop' free is a whole-nother entry in itself...
The pool party was a hit; it was a great chance for everyone to mingle on a more intimate setting. I got to sit down with my fellow youtubers and chatted with them on a personal basis. Plenty of pictures were taken (of course), and I even got my eyebrows done by the

Saturday's main event at Siren Studios was
P H E N O M E N A L
. I can't stress enough how amazing of an experience it was! I arrived at 11:30 am after a great breakfast, which I'm so glad I dived into because food was definitely not on the agenda for the day! The general admission line was already ridiculously long and fortunately, I got in right away. This was where the magic happened...
It was total chaos in there and I wouldn't have had it any other way. I stopped by
booth and was crowned my very first flower crown. Ever. There were floral fairies working hard to make everyone fresh flower crowns. Toni & Guy was in the neighboring vicinity braiding everyone's hair while Amy Phan DJed The Platform's space. It was a huge party and people were having lots of fun!
Whilst all the running around, my makeup was melting. Luckily, Bare Minerals was around to provide mini makeovers and touch ups, which I took full advantage of! I also stopped by
studio; they were the sweetest! The Bellami girls looked absolutely gorgeous and was providing extension consultations for everyone.
color matched me and taught me how to put in extensions like a pro! It was actually my first time wearing extensions straight (not curled) and I was pleasantly surprised that it blended so well with my hair! I've been in utter love with my extensions ever since!

The rooftop housed Style Haul and it provided for a great space to take photos with the Hollywood Hills and infamous sign as the backdrop.

Before heading back home to Vegas, I had brunch at
. I later found out that Figaro was the venue for a 2009 Madonna & Louis Vuitton ad campaign (
). Cool beans! Picked up some fresh flowers and I was on my way for the 4 hour drive. Bye LA, until next time!
I really had the time of my life and made so many new friends; it was an amazing experience and i cannot wait for next year! High five team #BeautyCon, y'all rocked!
